Mask Fit Testing In Calgary
“To protect workers from inhaling airborne silica, respiratory protective equipment is used. Many types of respirators are available and it is important to select the correct one(s) for the work being done.”

Qualitative vs. Quantitative Calgary Mask Fit Testing
Mask fit testing is an essential task to undertake to protect and secure employees who are often exposed to airborne hazards that are impossible to eradicate. It is an OHS requirement that all heavy-duty workers wearing a mask have to be fit tested. Respiratory protection equipment is a necessity for such heavy-duty jobs, and it is vital for employees to have their masks fitted securely to avert hazards.
With Rocky Mountain Mobile Hearing Testing, we provide mask fit testing for all major heavy-duty industries within locations that include Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Eastern BC. At work industry sites, we provide two distinct tests, Qualitative and Quantitative.
Our quantitative test will measure how much the mask can leak while using a Quantifit machine, which will give you accurate results and is highly recommended for half and full-face respirators. A bit different than the quantitative is the qualitative test, which relies on the employees’ sense of taste as it requires them to determine the substances in the air. Workers who are being fitted with N95 masks and half-face masks should take this qualitative test. After these series of tests are completed, employees will acquire a mask fit test certificate that will slide into any wallet.
We strive to offer workers in Western Canada proper respiratory protection with mask-fit testing that will secure workers and offer them proper safety protocols.
